Paris Wells

It's taken Melbourne's Paris Wells little time to establish herself as the artist to watch in 2009. After building a monstrous buzz in Melbourne's pulsating live circuit, Paris signed to local label Illusive Sounds and shortly afterwards released her debut EP, Mum Hasn't Slept Yet. The outstanding reception that this release garnered was the catalyst for her scoring the coveted national support slot for Justin Timberlake's record breaking FutureSex/LoveShow tour of Australia and New Zealand.
The word was quickly spreading. Just to cap off an incredible six months for the feisty blonde, her summer included appearances at Australia's most prestigious – and most loved - music festivals including Big Day Out, Falls Festival, Good Vibrations, St Kilda Festival, Sydney Music Festival & Meredith Music Festival. After another six months of sold-out intimate shows in some of the country's coolest venues, Paris unleashed her freshman LP on the world in June '08 in the form of Keep It.
This was followed by a stack of near-perfect reviews in some of the Australia's most recognised music media and, just in case there was previously any doubt, the secret was officially out of the bag. Since then, one of Paris' tracks – Grace Baby – has been used as the soundtrack for one of the year's biggest advertising campaigns and Paris has continued to build her grass-roots buzz through appearances at boutique hot spots across the nation.
Word-of-mouth that is growing stronger with every passing day, it would appear as if Paris' skyward journey won't be stopping anytime soon.
